Global Smile Foundation's mission is to alleviate the suffering of underserved children and adults born with facial congenital deformities with special emphasis on cleft lips and palates.
Guayaquil, EC, Mar 8-17, 2013
GSF returned from a very successful mission in Guayaquil, partnering with Fundación Global Smile Ecuador, local government officials, and our Ecuadorian colleagues to provide the highest level of comprehensive cleft care. The team worked in the Leon Beccera Hospital and participated in several fundraisers including a 5k race to support GSF on future missions.
Mission accomplishments include: 415 surgical and dental procedures completed; 104 patients screened; 44 corrective surgical procedures completed including 10 cleft lip repairs, 11 cleft palate repairs, 14 cleft lip revisions, 9 cleft palate revisions.
